People in Need diary

A diary for the non-governmental nonprofit organization People in Need.

„1000 days that change the world“ – that is the motto that determined the concept of this diary for the non-governmental nonprofit organization People in Need. This motto builds up on the idea that the first 1000 days of every person’s life (counted since the conception) fundamentally influence his whole life. The opening text clarifies the connection between poor nourishment of fetus or then child and a weak immune system, poor mental and physical development, and their impacts on child’s school results and eventually on future employment. It explains that malnutrition originates not only in lack of food, but also in lack of nutrients, potable wated and absence of medical care.

The final equation, to which this diary is dedicated, stands: solution to malnutrition = solution to poverty.

The shape of this diary originates in our elemento diary. Blue pencil strap, that keeps the diary neatly closed, refers to the life-giving water; the three zeros on the screen-printed motto refer to the three main pillars of healthy development – potable water, medical care and quality nutrition. The font design purposely imitates child’s writing.
